Forces and Combat
One important change from the original games is that armies are now split into indivisable 'Forces'. A commander can recruit, transfer or garrison a force as a single entity. As in the original games, they can only be recruited by a commander of an appropriate race. However, each Force has its own movement points and morale.
Morale is the replacement for the energy of the original games. Unlike in those, morale is not lost simply for travelling. However, combat, particularly if the army is defeated, will erode morale. Morale can only be regained by resting at strongholds. If morale reaches rock bottom, members of the Force may start to desert. The maximum morale for a Force is determined by their commander; as some are more inspiring than others.
Forces will regain numbers if they are left to rest at their home stronghold. However, if a force is eliminated entirely it will be destroyed. It may be possible to bring the Force back if you reconquer their home stronghold.
Combat can now take place between any number of different armies and sides, and the algorithm used is far more realistic than that used in the original games.
